A steel-frame warehouse under construction in Mawlamyine, recorded from steel erection back to bare ground, with 3D renders showing the finished design.
01 / 03
This warehouse is still under construction, and the photographs show it partway built. The first frames record the steel going up. Tapered portal frames are lifted into place by a mobile crane and bolted onto steel columns. The rafters meet at a shallow ridge over the full width of the plot. Each column stands on a concrete pedestal, and brick ground beams run between them.
02 / 03
Before the steel, the ground floor was cast as a broad concrete slab across the whole plot. Earlier frames show the foundations beneath it. Reinforced concrete ground beams sit on brick walls, enclosing bays of red earth. Column cages stand ready for the next pour. In the pits, pad footings are formed in timber, and pumps draw off the rainwater while the crew works.
03 / 03
Further back, trenches are dug in red earth along the boundary wall, with brick footing walls and starter bars set in them. The first photographs are of a grassed, empty plot with timber pegs and string marking out the building. The last images are 3D renders of the design. They show a blue clad steel building with open vehicle bays and an office block at one end.
